Ingredients

  • 2 oz silver/blanco tequila
  • 2 oz fresh blood orange juice
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 tsp light agave nectar or simple syrup
  • 1 tiny drop pure vanilla extract (optional)
  • 2 tsp kosher sea salt and/or Himalayan salt
  • 1 tsp brown sugar (optional)
  • Lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Combine the salt and sugar on a small plate. Run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass and dip it into the salt blend.
  2. Add ice cubes to the glass and set aside.
  3. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and pour in the tequila, freshly squeezed blood orange and lime juice, and agave nectar. Add a drop of vanilla extract if desired.
  4. Shake the mixture for 30 seconds, then strain it into the prepared glass.
  5. Garnish with a slice of blood orange, if desired.
