Ingredients

  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. mulling spices
  • 5-10 fresh thyme sprigs
  • 1-2 oz. apple cider syrup
  • 2 oz. bourbon
  • Ice
  • Fresh thyme for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, combine apple cider, maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, and mulling spices.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5-8 minutes.
  3. Remove the syrup from the heat, add thyme, and transfer it to a glass jar. Refrigerate for about 2 hours to cool.
  4. When ready to make a cocktail, add ice to a cocktail shaker and fill a 5-6 oz glass with crushed or shaved ice.
  5. Add bourbon, apple cider syrup, and extra thyme leaves to the cocktail shaker, then shake for about 20 seconds.
  6. Pour the cocktail into the glass, garnish with thyme, and serve.
