Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 vanilla bean (split and seeds scraped out)
  • 3 earl grey tea bags (or 3 tsp loose tea)
  • 1 oz whiskey
  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • 1 oz earl grey vanilla simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz egg white
  • 1 twist lemon peel
  • 1 handful ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, and scraped vanilla seeds. Bring to a boil.
  2. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the earl grey tea bags. Let steep for 5 minutes, then remove the tea bags.
  3. Allow the syrup to cool and store it in the fridge.
  4. In a cocktail shaker, combine whiskey, lemon juice, earl grey vanilla syrup, and egg white.
  5. Shake the mixture for 20 seconds, then add ice and shake for an additional 10 seconds.
  6. Strain the cocktail into a tumbler, add ice, and garnish with a twist of lemon peel.
