Ingredients

  • 3/8 cup cold water
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)
  • 5/8 cup ice
  • 1 lemon slice (garnish)
  • 1 maraschino cherry (garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring 3/8 cup water and sugar to a boil to make simple syrup.
  2. Cook until the sugar is completely dissolved, then cool the syrup completely.
  3. In a blender, combine the simple syrup, lemon juice, lemon zest (if desired), 3/8 cup water, and ice.
  4. Blend until smooth and frothy.
  5. Pour into a glass, garnish with a lemon slice and a maraschino cherry.
  6. Serve immediately.
