Ingredients

  • 1 can (12 oz) Canada Dry Mandarin Orange Seltzer water
  • 3 cups orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 bottle of champagne or sparkling wine

Instructions

  1. Combine ½ cup sugar and ½ cup water, then heat in the microwave until boiling (about 1 ½ minutes). Stir and set aside to cool.
  2. Squeeze half a lemon for about a tablespoon of lemon juice.
  3. In an 8 x 8 pan, mix together lemon juice, 3 cups of orange juice, the cooled simple syrup, and 1 can of Canada Dry Mandarin Orange Seltzer Water.
  4. Place the mixture in the freezer.
  5. Stir or break up the granita with a fork every 30 minutes for the first hour.
  6. After 2 hours, break up the granita with a fork again.
  7. At 3 hours, the granita is ready to serve.
  8. Add about ½ cup of granita to a glass, then pour champagne or sparkling wine over it and serve.
