If you can get past the drink's tragic history, this updated version is beautiful and beautifully refreshing. This elegant cocktail blends the richness of rum with the zing of citrus and the effervescence of champagne, creating a drink that's both sophisticated and refreshing.

Ingredients
- 1 egg white
- 1 oz. white rum
- 1/2 oz. simple syrup
- 1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice
- 1 oz. fresh orange juice
- Champagne
- Orange peel
Instructions
- Combine egg white, white rum, simple syrup, fresh lemon juice, and fresh orange juice in a cocktail shaker.
- Shake the mixture without ice, then add ice to the shaker and shake again until chilled.
- Strain the mixture into a snifter filled with crushed ice.
- Top the cocktail with Champagne.
- Garnish with a twist of orange peel.
