Seared Sunset Bourbon
Seared Sunset Bourbon is a delightful cocktail featuring a mix of bourbon, ginger liqueur, sherry, and fresh orange juice, garnished with caramelized orange slices for a sweet and aromatic finish.
Ingredients
- 1/2 medium navel orange
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1 1/2 oz bourbon
- 1/2 oz amontillado sherry
- 1/2 oz ginger liqueur
Instructions
- Slice the orange in half horizontally.
- Cut a thin slice from each half and coat one side of each slice with the sugar.
- Heat a small, heavy skillet on high and sear the orange slices, sugar-side down, until lightly caramelized.
- Remove from the pan and let cool, browned side up.
- Juice the rest of the orange; you should have about 1/4 cup.
- Combine bourbon, sherry, ginger liqueur, and orange juice in a cocktail shaker with a few ice cubes.
- Stir briefly to chill.
- Strain over ice into a rocks glass.
- Place a caramelized orange slice, browned side up, directly in the glass, sitting on top of the rocks.
- Serve and enjoy!
