  • 1 1/4 cups spiced apple cider, divided
  • 1-2 teaspoons maple syrup
  • 1-1 1/2 oz alcohol of choice (dark rum, spiced rum, bourbon, vodka, etc.)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon


  1. Freeze 3/4 cup of apple cider in an ice cube tray the day before serving.
  2. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl, then dip the rim of the glass in water and coat with the spiced sugar. Place the glasses in the freezer for at least 1 hour before serving.
  3. In a blender, combine the cider ice cubes, maple syrup, remaining apple cider, and alcohol (if using). Blend until a slushy, icy consistency forms, adjusting the thickness with a small amount of additional apple cider if needed.
  4. Carefully pour the slushies into the prepared glasses.
  5. Garnish with sliced apple and cinnamon sticks, or other fall-inspired decorations.
