Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 ounces rye whiskey
  • 1 ounce applejack brandy or Calvados
  • 3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 ounce simple syrup
  • 4 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Club soda
  • 1 lemon twist

Instructions

  1. In a cocktail shaker, combine rye whiskey, applejack, lemon juice, simple syrup, and Angostura bitters.
  2. Fill the shaker with ice and cover it.
  3. Shake until the outside of the shaker is frosty, for about 30 seconds.
  4. Pour the mixture into a rocks glass filled with ice.
  5. Top off with club soda.
  6. Garnish with a twist of lemon.
